Women's Care : Services : Low and High-Risk Pregnancy

Teenage Pregnancy

  • Optimize prenatal care in this high risk population
  • Abuse prevention
  • Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD) prevention
  • Birth Control

First Trimester Prenatal Screening

  • First trimester screening is performed between 11-13 weeks of pregnancy, and involves both an ultrasound and a blood test.

Second Trimester Prenatal Screening

  • The risk of producing a child with Down syndrome or an open neural tube defect concerns many parents. This risk can be assessed by screening the level of alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) in the mother's bloodstream.

Hypertension Program

  • Identify, treat and modify hypertensive disease of pregnancy

Infectious Diseases

  • Control and treatment of perinatal infections
  • HIV

Lactation Clinic

  • Expert breastfeeding assistance by Certified Nurse Midwives and Pediatric Nurse Practitioners who are also board certified as lactation consultants.

Metabolism Program

  • Optimize control of metabolic diseases prior to, during and following pregnancy

Multiple Pregnancy Program

  • High risk care for women with multiple fetuses

Preconceptional Counseling

  • Optimize wellness prior to conception/pregnancy

Preterm Birth Prevention Program

  • Identify and control risk factors for premature delivery

Prenatal Diagnosis

  • Identification and treatment of fetal disease
  • Ultrasound
  • Serologic testing
  • Amniocentesis and Chorionic Villi Sampling (CVS)

Postpartum Mood Disorders Program

  • Mood disorders and pregnancy
