Family Planning Program

MUSC is pleased to outline the Family Planning Program offering comprehensive services within an outpatient and general gynecology office. The director of this clinic, Dr. Angela Dempsey, is a board certified Obstetrician Gynecologist with a specialty in Family Planning. MUSC has offered family planning services for years and now has expanded medical and support staff to facilitate referrals and better serve the community.  Services include:

Contraception (birth control) Services
Contraceptive consultations for medically or socially complicated patients
IUD insertion and removal including lost IUDs
Implanon insertion and removal
Tubal ligation including the Essure procedure.
Family Planning Services
Medical management of miscarriage
Office based uterine evacuation for miscarriage
Surgical or medical pregnancy termination in the first and second trimester for fetal anomalies, fetal demise, or maternal indications
