BENEFITS

The following stipends (approximate) will be effective October 1, 2007 - September 30, 2008

 
Income:
 
PGY 1                         $43,086
PGY 2                         $44,126
PGY 3                         $46,045
PGY 4                         $48,039
PGY 5                         $50,130
PGY 6                         $52,576
PGY 7                         $54,589
PGY 8                         $57,809


Benefits:

- Wellness Center free membership.  Spouses receive discount www.musc.edu/hsc/
- New lab coat each year
- 1-2 textbooks per year donated by industry
- 1 conference Chief year with all expenses paid
- Meal cards
- Steak-Out or Pizza on weekends

Vacation:
- 3 weeks per year
- Approximately 1 week at Christmas or New Years  

Residents receive 15 weekdays of annual leave per year through institutional guidelines. They also receive 15 days of sick leave per year. Over the Christmas and New Year holidays, the residents each get an additional week of vacation through departmental benevolence.

The Chief Resident and Program Director arranges a schedule which covers residents who are on vacation, who are ill, or who are on leave of absence.
