Group Exercise Class Descriptions- 
Absolute Strength with Body Bar A full body conditioning class designed to improve muscular strength and endurance utilizing weighted body bars. The class is concluded with a challenging core conditioning segment to increase functional strength and balance. Class content changes every 2 to 3 weeks. Aikido "The Way to Harmony in Spirit" is a Japanese martial art that teaches self-defense in a totally noncompetitive atmosphere. The principles of Aikido teach relaxation and centering. Classes include meditation, breathing exercises, stretching, toning and self-defense. Athletic Core/Legs A class devoted to legs, and to the 40+ core muscles that provide stability, balance and power to the body. Strength, balance, agility, and power will be developed with this workout. BodyBar Essentials A full body conditioning class, utilizing weighted body bars, that emphasizes fundamental lifting exercises, technique and progression to improve overall tone, strength, endurance and performance! Body Bar Extreme Conditioning Applying all the principals of the absolute strength and the essentials classes and increasing overall volume and total poundage by approximately 20 to 30 %. The class will take your conditioning and performance to a new level! Cardio Conditioning Plus The cardio phase of this class will use the step, multi steps or the coreboard. There will be an emphasis on the stability ball for core and lower body conditioning. This class also includes a segment of flexibility training to prevent and relieve soreness and muscle tension. Core Board® Conditioning This is a fun and challenging workout that will improve strength, agility, balance, and overall performance. Cardiovascular and weight management benefits can also be experienced with the Reebok® Core Board.Core Essentials A challenging workout that is designed to improve both core conditioning, appearance and function! The class is built around the concepts that a strong and stable core will allow the extremities to do their job better and that optimal postural alignment is the foundation for functional training. Fanatic Friday A very high intensity class training session utilizing multiple formats and modalities including; Step, body Bar, Core Essentials, Mixed Martial Arts and dance. 45mins of cardio conditioning, 20mins of strength and 10mins of core conditioning. Group Indoor Cycling A program to make you a better, fitter cyclist. Workouts are designed for both competitive and non-competitive cyclists and triathletes, and those who just want to get a great workout. INTV An aerobic interval training class consisting of repeated intervals (approx. 5 min.) of higher intensity cardiovascular exercises (hi/low, step) interspersed with intervals of lower intensity exercises (weighted upper and lower body). A great cross-training workout resulting in enhanced muscular endurance and improved cardiorespiratory fitness. Joe D Bands® Athletic Training- This Joe D Bands class focuses on power, strength, speed, and flexibility. Improve your vertical jump, explosiveness and agility. This class is for competitive athletes or advanced level fitness enthusiasts. It includes techniques the pros use in the NFL, MLB, NBA and other pro & college level training programs. This class is also geared to reduce the susceptibility of injury during training and competition. Visit: www.joedbands.com Total Fitness- This Joe D Bands class focuses on all components of fitness: cardiovascular fitness, strength, endurance, flexibility, and body composition. This form of resistance training is easy on the joints, yet produces significant results in improving neuro-muscular training adaptations. It will result in improved strength, muscle tone, coordination, and flexibility. If combined with proper nutrition, it will also speed the process of losing body fat and increasing muscle mass.Visit: www.joedbands.com J.K.I. (Just Kick It) Reloaded 2008- A unique conditioning class workout that combines mixed martial arts, boxing, rope jumping and sports conditioning drills in aerobic and anaerobic intervals. This class utilizes heavy bag and focus pads, hand wraps or gloves recommended. Karen's Class This group exercise class is taught by Karen Theos, certified Senior Fitness instructor with 25 years experience. This class is designed for ages 50 years and over and focuses on agility, balance, coordination, endurance, stretching, and strength training. Physician clearance is required. All abilities are welcome at any time. Modifications are taught for participants who are limited in range of motion or mobility. Equipment used includes steps, dumbbells, weighted balls, resistance bands, weighted bars, and exercise balls, and other props. This class is done to music as a group. Pilates Mat This Pilates-based Mat class is a total body non-impact workout that stretches, strengthens and lengthens the entire body, with emphasis on the core muscles. Pilates Mat, Advanced Once you have mastered the Pilates Mat Class, this advanced class will further challenge your flexibility, core strength, and stabilization. Pilates Mat with Ball Full body workout utilizing the Mat & Ball. Emphasis of instruction placed on proper bio-mechanical alignment of Core exercises. The class will improve your overall muscle tone, strength and posture. S.T.A.E. Fit (Strength Training and Aerobic Exercise) – Healthy MUSCles for Seniors! This program combines strength, aerobics, flexibility, and balance exercises. The class follows an easy progression beginning with stretching, abdominal, back, and balance exercises. This is followed by 30 minutes of cardiovascular exercise using the indoor or outdoor track, and equipment such as the treadmill, elliptical trainer, Nustep, and various steppers and bikes. The strength training exercises include resistance tubing, dumbbells, weighted bars, exercise balls and body weight exercises. Safety, proper training techniques, strength, endurance, balance, and range of motion are all important aspects of the program. Physician clearance is required for the program. The program is not for rehabilitation or physical therapy purposes. It is intended to keep senior adults physically active, healthy, prevent injury, and improve the quality of life. Class Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, Friday - 2 class times offered 9:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. or 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 noon. Fees: Free for members or $150.00 for 3 months/non-members. Step A step-training workout - This is high intensity, low impact workout that is easy to follow and challenging to all fitness levels. This class provides an incredible cardiovascular workout as well as added conditioning and toning of the hamstrings, quadriceps, and gluteals. Great for the legs! Some classes will also include a short sculpting segment. Step Challenge The ultimate cardio class utilizing step. An hour of calorie burning muscle toning stepping! No dancing here, it’s back to the fundamentals pumped with power and energy! Step Choreography A 60-minute high-energy class packed with the latest and greatest choreography! This class is designed for the experienced and seasoned step enthusiast. Symmetry (2008) - A balanced body functions better and is more visually appealing. In this class you will preform unilateral training exercises that prevents the stronger side or limb of the body from taking load away from the weaker side or limb. Unilateral training has also been shown to have a greater effect to a host of stabilizer muscles, which directly effect on the ability of the prime movers to execute heavy movements. Tae Bo® A program that combines the best variety of different exercise disciplines to provide an overall workout. Tae Bo® is the combination of self awareness and the control of martial arts, the focus and strength of boxing and the grace and rhythm of dance. Tai Chi for Seniors Wu Style Tai Chi Ch’uan for seniors is an eastern discipline of gentle movements creating radiant health and inner harmony. It is a weight bearing exercise that improves joint health, stretches and strengthens muscles, and strengthens the heart. Proper breathing is also a focus of this class which promotes overall health, and enhances physical and mental balance. Class is scheduled for Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. Women On Weights A training program that meets twice a week for 4 weeks. The program is designed and instructed by a nationally certified personal trainer and group exercise instructor. Yoga Yoga is about bringing the Mind, Body and Spirit into such harmony that one’s natural rhythm can be felt and followed.
