We treasure our volunteers at MUSC. Whether it's providing companionship, delivering flowers and magazines, or greeting patients and their families, MUSC has a lot of opportunity for you to give back.   Our volunteers help fulfill the MUSC mission to provide the best quality health care for our patients.

There are a variety of volunteer opportunities available to adults and students over the age of 16 at our hospital. Please note that due to the volume of applications we receive, and the specific requirements of the programs we offer, we are unable to place every applicant.

Volunteer Requirements
Please review the requirements below before submitting your application.

Summer placements are limited and subject to the 100-hour annual requirement. Students interested in volunteering during summer must be certain of their ability to follow through on the commitment and submit their application by April 1.

Please note that our program does not provide the opportunity to shadow physicians, nurses, or other health care providers, nor do we allow volunteers to perform any sort of medical procedures.

We provide all of our volunteers training and ongoing support. New volunteers are required to complete general orientation. In addition to your overall orientation you will receive an orientation and training in your particular area of service.
