MUSC Helps Iraq War Veteran Recover From Brain Injury
Matthew Smith came back from active duty in Iraq, and suffered a traumatic brain injury from a motorcycle accident. He was told he just have to live with his deficits, but his mom was determined that he receive the best care available. When Matthew needed eye muscle surgery to correct his double vision, his mom found Dr. Ronald Teed at the MUSC Storm Eye Institute. Matthew is now able to walk some on his own and making progress every day.
