Transplant : Pediatric Transplants : Pediatric Blood & Bone Marrow Transplants at MUSC : The MUSC Transplant Team

Our pediatric blood and marrow transplant team is the strength of our program and encompasses all of the specialists involved in treating and caring for patients to include pediatric oncology/hematology physicians, nurses, blood bank and cryopreservation and HLA laboratory.  These individuals collaborate to ensure each patient receives the care and information necessary for a successful outcome.  Each week, the team reviews individual cases, makes treatment recommendations and appointments that accommodate patients’ schedules and preferences.  During these meetings, the team also identifies patients who might benefit from joining a clinical trial.  The transplant coordinator is the main point of contact between the patient and the team and he or she will be completely familiar with each patient’s needs.

Transplant team contacts:

Pediatric Oncology/Hematology:
Michelle Hudspeth, M.D.
Ram K. Alpatthi, M.D.
Jacqueline Kraveka, DO

Theo Fouts, RN, BSN, CPON, Lead Transplant Coordinator

To contact MUSC's pediatric blood and marrow transplant program, please call 843-792-8382.
