Lagow comes to the MUSC Sports Medicine staff from Atlanta, Ga., where he was the Assistant Athletic Trainer at Emory University for three years. While at Emory, Lagow worked with the soccer and basketball programs, as well as the baseball program as they advanced to the Division III World Series Championship game in 2007. | |
Since 2005, Lagow has been very involved as a Certified Athletic Trainer with the United States National Soccer Team programs. Most notably, he served the Men’s National Team during the summer of 2007 as they won the CONCACAF Gold Cup championship. He also traveled with the MNT to Venezuela as they competed in the Copa America tournament. During fall 2007, Lagow worked with the Men’s National Beach Soccer Team during the FIFA Beach World Cup in Rio de Janeiro. Aside from working with the Men’s National Team, Dave has worked with the U-23, U-20 and U-18 Youth National Teams while traveling to Argentina, Japan and China. Prior to his work at Emory, Lagow was the Assistant Athletic Trainer at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Va. While there, he primarily worked with the Football and Women’s Basketball programs, but also spent some time with Track and Field. Lagow earned an undergraduate degree in Athletic Training from the College of Charleston in 2001. While at the College of Charleston, he worked with many of their athletic teams. He also worked with Wando High School and the South Carolina Stingrays. Lagow went on to complete a master’s degree at The Citadel in 2003, where he worked with the football and basketball teams. A NATA Certified Athletic Trainer since 2001, Lagow enjoys spending time with his wife, Alison, and their dog. He also enjoys traveling, outdoor activities, and anything to do with sports. He also is currently working toward Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES) certification from the National Academy of Sports Medicine. |
