Breastfeeding Classes - 843-402-2273
Breastfeeding classes are offered at both Care Alliance Hospitals. Call HealthLine at above number for further information about dates and times. Registration required.  Husbands or partners welcome.

LaLeche League Breastfeeding Support - 843-849-1763 (home phone)
Information, support, meetings. Call for information.

WIC (Women Infants & Children) - 843-746-3837
Provides vouchers for food for pregnant and breastfeeding women or women with children under 5 at high risk. Program for low-income families to insure that children have an adequate diet, to improve weight of babies, and to provide nutritional education. Call area health departments for more information.

Childbirth Education at MUSC - 843-792-5300
Offered at MUSC. If MUSC patient, register at prenatal clinical site. If non-MUSC patient, call Women's Services at above number.

Childbirth Education Classes - 843-402-2273
Classes are offered at both Care Alliance Hospitals - Roper and St. Francis. This is a four-week series taught by Birth Suite/Labor & Delivery nurses. Call the HealthLine for dates and times. Also, offers vaginal birth after C-section consults, early pregnancy and childbirth preparation refresher classes.

Alpha Pregnancy Center - 843-875-5623
Education on pregnancy and childbirth classes. Assists mother and baby with clothing and furnishing. Classes on pregnancy and breast feeding.

Parenting Classes - 843-792-5300
4-week course on Tuesday or Wednesday nights. Women’s Services at above number. Fee

Lowcountry Crisis Pregnancy Center - North Charleston - 843-553-3505
Free pregnancy testing, crisis pregnancy counseling, free maternity and infant clothing, emergency diapers/formula, medicaid application, and DHEC health education. Prevention services (abstinence perspective). Pro-life, Christian ministry supported by local churches.

Free pregnancy testing, information, and referral to community services.

Alpha Pregnancy Center - 843-875-5623
Available 24/7. Pro-life organization. Free pregnancy testing, education on pregnancy and alternatives to abortion.

Women’s Medical Center, Charleston - 843-571-5161
Provides birth control. Pregnancy testing and counseling. Abortions through 14th week of pregnancy. 

Aid for Pregnant Women Program (Catholic Diocese) - 843-308-9361 Ext. 17
Pregnancy support services including adoption

Day Program

Pregnancy support. Accredited high school and middle school for pregnant Charleston County students. Comprehensive medical care and counseling.
Family Development Center - 843-853-8006
A structured residential program for single mothers with one child under age of three.  Mothers must go to school, work, or be in a training program with defined goals. Maximum length of stay is two years. Offers counseling and case management.
Residential Program - 843-722-7526
Specializes in prevention and treatment of teen pregnancy across South Carolina.  Residential care for 
currently pregnant young women or young women/teens at risk.
   
Post Partum Depression Support Group (Ruth Rhoden Craven Foundation) - 843-881-2047
Support group for women who are suffering from post partum depression. Meets at the Lutheran Church of The Redeemer (Family Life Center). 714 Riverdale Avenue.

Getting to Know Me - Kathie Chase 843-792-1982 / Deborah West 843-792-8806
A developmental class for parents of premature and sick infants.  Helps parents better understand and care for their special new babies.  Classes are held the first and third Thursday of the month at 10:00AM and the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month at 5:30PM in Room 841 of the Children's Hospital.
