Depression and Bi-Polar Support Alliance (DBSA) - 1-800-826-3632
Local support group for individuals experiencing depression or manic-depression are welcome, as are friends and family of those experiencing these disorders. Call Melinda Harmon at 843-723-2618.

Day treatment program for emotionally disabled youth (ages 6-15) and families

Program for adults who have serious and persistent mental illness. 18 and above.

Assisted living for adults aged 18-55 with major mental illness.

Division of Charleston/Dorchester Community Mental Health Center. Family, group and individual therapy for children and adolescents.  Works in schools and with other social service agencies.

Mobile Crisis (Charleston and Dorchester County) - 843-414-2350
Assessment, treatment, and referral for anyone experiencing psychiatric emergencies or at risk for suicide.

National Alliance for the Mentally Ill (NAMI) Helpline - 800-950-6264
Provides information about mental illness.

Tri-County Crisis Stabilization Center - 843-958-3525
Provides an alternative for hospital admission with early crisis intervention.  10 bed residential facility.  No one in withdrawal is admitted.

Impact Children’s Day Treatment Program (STAR Program, MUSC) - 843-875-8515
Partial hospital program that treats children between the ages of 5 and 12 (must have medicaid)who exhibit serious emotional or behavioral difficulties.  Children live at home and come in for treatment 5 hours a day for 5 days.  Individual, small group, and family therapy.  Requires weekly participation from patient's family (4 hours)
