MUSC Alzheimer's Research and Clinical Programs - 843-740-1592
Geriatric Research Group, Dept.  Of Psychiatry, Bank America (formerly Nations Bank) Building, 5900 Core Ave., Ste 203, N.Chas. Conducts clinical drug trials with older adults with AD, cerebrovascular dementia, behavioral disturbances (agitation) depression, and schizophrenia.  Can also provide information and referrals for persons with AD and their families.  Collaborates closely with patient's primary care physician

Palmetto Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association - 843-571-2641
Provides general information for caregivers and health professionals and the locations of area support groups.

Alzheimer’s Disease Education and Referral Center - 1-800-438-4380
Provides education and referral information for general public and professionals. 

Catholic Charities - 843-402-9071
St. Thomas Catholic Church in North Charleston.  Offers adult day care for people age 55 and older with memory loss or Alzheimer’s.  Do not have to be Catholic to receive services.

Center for Aging - Local Chapter - 843-554-2275
Education, counseling, and respite care for caregivers of people with Alzheimer's and related memory loss disorders.  Has a complete listing of ARC Centers in the area.
