The Department of Radiation Oncology offers a full range of both conventional and high-technology patient care services. In addition, the Department's faculty bring a wide range of backgrounds and experiences to our residency programs and ongoing research projects.

The Department of Radiation Oncology is a service line of the Medical University of South Carolina for providing radiotherapy to cancer patients. The professional and technical resources of Radiation Oncology and various support services combine to provide an integrated continuum of care referred to as Radiation Oncology Clinical Services. The patient population includes eastern South Carolina, ages ranging from the infant to geriatric populations.

The hours of operation are 7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. and on-call status for evening and weekends. Services provided include external beam irradiation, Brachytherapy and other state-of the-art procedures such as Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS), High Dose Rate (HDR) Brachytherapy, Iotrex, Intravascular Brachytherapy (IVB), Mammosite, Total Body Irradiation (TBI), and 3-D conformal therapy with Multi-Leaf Collimation.
