Adolescent & Family Services (AFS)
MUSC's Adolescent & Family Services (AFS) specializes in the delivery of family-based treatment for adolescents (ages 12-17 years) struggling with substance use or other behavioral problems. Services are delivered in an outpatient setting, utilizing evidence-based Contingency Management and Behavior Modification techniques. In addition to outpatient therapy, a psychiatrist is available for physical health and medication consultation. As with all clinical services at MUSC, AFS provides confidential treatment.
Appointments are scheduled based on counselor availability and typically are in the afternoon or evening. Families wishing to see a counselor should call 323-5701 and ask for an appointment with Adolescent & Family Services. The program will accept Medicaid insurance or self-pay.
