TMS featured on NOVA scienceNOW

The award-winning PBS television science show NOVA scienceNOW featured the work of Dr. Mark George, who directs the MUSC Institute of Psychiatry Brain Stimulation Laboratory.  Dr. George is an internationally renowned expert on Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation, or TMS.  This form of brain stimulation is now being used, not only to explore brain functions, but also to treat mental depression . . . with surprisingly powerful results. The program also featured Dr. Jeff Borckardt and Dr. Scott Reeves of the Anesthesia department, who have pioneered TMS as a potential anti-pain treatment.

The program aired on February 2, 2011 and will  be available on DVD from PBS.
