The Youth Outpatient Clinic serves children and adolescents up to age 18 years old with emotional and behavioral disorders including ADHD, anxiety, mood, and adjustment disorders. Project Rex helps families deal with children on the autism spectrum.
Children's Day Treatment (CDT) Programs
IMPACT (Innovative Models for Parent and Child Treatment)
The IMPACT Program offers Children's Day Treatment to preschool-age (3-6) children with extremely disruptive behaviors at home or in daycare. Using age-appropriate activities, clinical counselors work closely with patients to modify emotional and behavioral responses. Treatment occurs in a school-like setting. Extensive work with the family members is a key offering of this program. STAR (Stabilization - Treatment - Assessment - Reintegration)
The STAR Program offers Children's Day Treatment and Partial Hospitalization for children and adolescents (6-17) with serious behavioral and/or emotional difficulties in a structured and therapeutic environment. Children remain in the program throughout the day, receiving treatment in a group setting. The inpatient program at the Institute of Psychiatry provides brief crisis stabilization of children (5-18) with severe emotional disorders. Youth in crisis situations who are a risk to themselves or others learn new skills to better cope at home after discharge. The treatment team works closely with the family and outpatient providers and community agencies in order to ensure a smooth transition back to the community.
