"I utilize %CDT in outpatients to screen high risk medical patients...those with hypertension, diabetes, heart disease, depression"

-M.F. Fleming, MD, MPH

Carbohydrate Deficient Transferrin (%CDT) is a bio-marker for heavy alcohol consumption.  %CDT, a heavy alcohol usage test, allows for the monitoring of alcohol consumption over an extended period of time.  The Clinical Neurobiology Laboratory (CNL) participated in the FDA certification of the Bio-Rad %CDT TIA.  The CNL has processed and run close to ten thousand %CDT samples for clinical and contractual work.
