The Breast Oncology Program is a leading resource for breast cancer prevention, genetic counseling and testing, diagnostics, treatment and support. Each patient’s care plan is coordinated by a dedicated nurse specialist to include physician care, physical therapy, genetic counseling, support groups and outreach. Comprehensive patient care, education and support are the goal. Emphasis is placed on rapid entry into the program with weekly tumor board discussions and cutting edge breast cancer treatment. Program Highlights • MammoSite, a form of radiation therapy that delivers precise amounts of radiation after lumpectomy • Stereotactic biopsy performed in the mammography suite • R2 Computer-Aided Diagnosis (CAD) to double check mammograms • Ductal Lavage for early detection with high risk patients • MRI of the breast • Emphasis on breast conservation to preserve healthy tissue and cosmetic appearance • Sentinel node biopsy to minimize the effects of breast cancer surgery • Lymphedema program to teach patients preventative exercises • High Risk Breast Program
