Linda Austin, M.D. hosts our MUSC Health Podcasts, covering a wide range of current health topics, featuring MUSC patients, physicians and staff. 

Dr. Austin is a practicing psychiatrist in Charleston, South Carolina.  She is also the Associate Dean for Communication Development and a Professor of Psychiatry at the Medical University of South Carolina. A frequent lecturer, she is best known for her formerly nationally syndicated radio program, What's On Your Mind? She lives with her husband in Charleston.

Her previous book, What's Holding You Back?: Eight Critical Choices for Women's Success, was featured on the Oprah Winfrey Show and other national media. As Professor of Psychiatry at the Medical University of South Carolina, she lectures nationally on issues of women's development. Recently she was honored by the National Library of Medicine as an influential woman leader in American medicine. Dr. Austin is the mother of two grown children.
