Linda Austin, M.D., Clinical Professor of Psychiatry and Director of the Office of University Communications, hosts many of our MUSC Health Podcasts.  These podcasts cove a wide range of current health topics, featuring MUSC patients, physicians and staff.

Dr. Austin is a practicing psychiatrist in Charleston, South Carolina.  She is also the Director of the Office of University Communications for the Medical University of South Carolina. A frequent lecturer, she is best known for her formerly nationally syndicated radio program, "What's On Your Mind?". She lives with her husband in Charleston.

Her previous book, What's Holding You Back?: Eight Critical Choices for Women's Success, was featured on the Oprah Winfrey Show and other national media. As Professor of Psychiatry at MUSC, she lectures nationally on issues of women's development. Recently she was honored by the National Library of Medicine as an influential woman leader in American medicine. Dr. Austin is the mother of two grown children.
