MUSC background

MUSC Transplant Center

The Transplant Center at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC)—offering heart, kidney, liver, pancreas, and lung transplantation surgeries—is the only comprehensive organ transplant center in South Carolina, and third overall in the nation among all transplant programs, as ranked by Carechex, a national hospital quality ratings company.  With some of the nation’s most experienced transplant surgeons, the Center provides patients with short wait times and short lengths of stay after surgery, state-of-the-art technology, and patient-centered care.   As an academic medical center, MUSC participates in many national clinical trials, thus offering the newest therapies and research findings that benefit patients.
