Physician Portal : Refer a Patient : MEDUCARE Pediatric Flight Team

The MEDUCARE Pediatric Flight Team is the only dedicated pediatric/neonatal critical care transport service in Charleston, SC and is based out of the Medical University of South Carolina. The Pediatric Flight Team transports patients throughout the state utilizing a BK-117 helicopter, fixed wing aircraft, or a mobile intensive care unit.

The team is configured with a highly trained Registered Nurse, Registered Respiratory Therapist, and an Emergency Medical Technican. We work closely with our communication specialists, who maintain flight following with the Omniflight pilots to ensure a safe environment for all patients and crew during transport. Helicpoter flights are available for transports within a 150 mile radius of Charleston, SC but we may transport patients greater than 150 miles pending approval. Fixed wing services are typically the mode of transport if the patient is greater than 150 miles.
