• Do I need MUSC Physician Portal access?

  It depends on your needs and speed at which you need to get to patient data. MUSC Physician Portal will let you view your patient’s data in near real time which can result in net-positive time savings making your practice more efficient and improve patient satisfaction.

• Is there a cost to get access?

  No! MUSC offers Physician Portal access free to physicians referring patients to MUSC. Your regular internet access costs apply.

• What do I need to have to get MUSC Physician Portal access?

  Please review the minimum system requirements document.

• How do I request MUSC Physician Portal access?

  If you are a physician referring patients to MUSC, please use the following link, MUSC Physician Portal Access, to make your request.

• What software does MUSC Physician Portal Access require?

  Only an internet web browser is needed to access the MUSC EMR. To print records, a PDF reader is required.

• Is access to the MUSC Physician Portal Access secure and HIPPA compliant?

  Yes.

• Is access to MUSC Physician Portal Access audited?

  Yes, user access is audited on a regular basis by the internal MUSC auditors. Violations are flagged and appropriate people contacted for further explanation.

• Can other staff in my office share my ID?

  No! The user-ID assigned to you is for your use only and must not be shared with anyone inside or outside your office. If you do need your staff to have access to the MUSC Physician Portal Access, please use the account registration forms to request their own unique user-ID and password. Office staff must be sponsored by their practice's physician.
