Chaplains are in house and available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Chaplain Wilson works as a chaplain and manager for the department and its mission. He began his work at MUSC in 1995. Terry completed his undergraduate degree at Mars Hill College. He holds a Master of Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and a Doctor of Ministry from Erskine Theological Seminary. He completed his clinical pastoral education at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Terry is an ordained Baptist minister affiliated with the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship. His pastoral care special interests are in the areas of Theodicy and Pediatric Intensive Care.

Chaplain Williams works at both MUSC and Charleston Memorial Hospital. He began his work at MUSC in 1994. He has an undergraduate degree from Allen University. Mel holds a Master of Divinity from Interdenominational Theological Center (Seminary). He completed his clinical pastoral education at Georgia Retardation Center and Georgia Mental Health Institute in Atlanta. Mel is an ordained African Methodist Episcopal (A.M.E.) minister. His pastoral care interests are in the areas of end-of-life care for African-Americans and building trust between minority groups, their communities and health care institutions.

Chaplain Rossi began his work at MUSC in 2001. He completed his undergraduate degree at Our Lady of the Lake University. He holds a Master of Arts in Religious Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and also holds a Master of Divinity from the M. Christopher White School of Divinity, Gardner-Webb University. George completed his clinical pastoral education at Palmetto Richland Memorial Hospital. He is an ordained Baptist minister and is endorsed by the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship. His interests are in the areas of pastoral care to families, men and grief and spirituality/mental health relationships.

Chaplain Brown began her work at MUSC in 2002. She completed her undergraduate degree at Baptist College of Charleston. She holds a Master of Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Lynn completed her clinical pastoral education at Memorial Medical in Savannah, GA and Bon Secours-St. Francis Hospital. She is an ordained Cooperative Baptist Fellowship minister. Her pastoral care interests include cardiology, as well as providing end-of-life care and bereavement workshops.

Chaplain Ikemeh is a Catholic priest in the Dominican Order. He joined the MUSC pastoral team in September 2006. He completed an undergraduate degree in philosophy and theology and earned a master's degree in clinical psychology from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. He holds a graduate degree in systematic theology from the Jesuit School of Theology at Berkeley, Calif., and was conferred a Doctor of Sacred Theology (Systematic Theology) at the Jesuit School of Theology at Berkeley. Bosco, as he is fondly called, started his Clinical Pastoral Education at California Pacific Medical Center, San Francisco, and completed it at Roper-St Francis Hospital. His pastoral care interest is in the area of Oncology and the suffering God.

Chris Brown is a Board Certified Chaplain (BCC) through the Association of Professional Chaplains and began his work at MUSC in 2007. He received a bachelor's degree from Erskine College and a Master of Divinity from Reformed Theological Seminary. Chris served as a chaplain for hospice before coming to MUSC, and he completed a clinical pastoral education residency at Bon Secours-St. Francis Hospital in Charleston. Chris is ordained by the Presbyterian Church in America, and his clinical interests are oncology and end of life care.

Chaplain Oranyeli is a Roman Catholic Priest of the Dominican Order, Province of Nigeria.  He joined the MUSC pastoral care team in 2007.  He has an undergraduate degree in pharmacy from Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria.  He had his formation training at The Dominican House of Studies, St. Thomas Aquinas Priory, Nigeria and his philosophical and theological studies at The Dominican Institute of Philosophy and Theology.  His Master of Arts degree in theology is from Duquesne University.  He completed his clinical pastoral education at The Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, and his pastoral care interests are in the areas of cardiovascular surgeries, organ and tissue transplants, and trauma and trauma follow ups.

Danny Reed

A native of North Carolina, Rev. Danny Reed arrived in Charleston in 2005 after having served congregations in St. Louis, Mo., and Norfolk, Va. A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and the Graduate Theological Union, Master of Divinity, in Berkeley, Calif., Rev. Reed's background includes experience with the Baptist church, Unitarian congregations, and more recently, The United Church of Christ. He began his Clinical Pastoral Education at Mt. Zion Hospital of the University of California at San Francisco and continued this process at Roper-St. Francis Hospital. Serving as Chaplain to Hollings Cancer Center two days a week, Rev. Reed visits with patients and their families in the clinics, waiting areas and in Hope Chapel. He may be reached at 792-6444 or by e-mail.

Chaplain Reggie Rowell joined MUSC in 2007. A graduate of Wofford College, he received his Master of Divinity and Master of Sacred Theology degrees from Yale University Divinity School. He completed his clinical pastoral education residency at Cabell Huntington Hospital, Huntington, WV.  A parish minister for twenty years, he has also worked in community mental health programs and psychiatric hospitals. Reggie is an ordained United Methodist minister in the South Carolina Annual Conference of the UMC. His pastoral care interests include male spirituality and mid-life issues, family systems theory, and end of life care.

Grace has been with Pastoral Care Services since 1992. She serves as s liaison for MUSC Medical Center patients, families, faculty/staff, and local clergy addressing pastoral care needs. She provides administrative support to the manager and clinical staff chaplains. Grace is a Roman Catholic Eucharistic Minister and is an active member of the choir at The Cathedral of St. John the Baptist in Charleston. She also assists patients with Advance Directives and serves as an Ombudsman and Notary Public for the State of South Carolina.
