Dr. Shealy received his undergraduate degree from the University of South Carolina and his medical degree from Bowman Gray - Wake Forest University School of Medicine. Between his Surgery internship and his Orthopaedic Surgery residency at the Medical University of South Carolina, he served four years in the United States Navy. Immediately following his residency, he completed a hand fellowship with the Hand Surgery Associates in Louisville, Kentucky. Dr. Shealy is a Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon and has also earned the Certificate of Added Qualification for Surgery of the Hand. He has been affiliated with the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Medical University of South Carolina since 1983. He currently has active staff privileges at the Medical University of South Carolina, Roper Hospital, Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital, East Cooper Regional Hospital, Charleston Memorial Hospital, and the Veterans Administration Hospital.
