Dr. McFadden received his cum laude B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Richmond and his M.D. from Eastern Virginia Medical School. He completed a residency in General Surgery at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. He then completed three additional years in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Eastern Virginia Medical School prior to doing a fellowship in Hand and Microsurgery at the California Pacific Medical Center. His academic career started with a Clinical Instructor appointment in the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Eastern Virginia Medical School. He then joined the Medical University of South Carolina, where he is now an Associate Professor with a joint appointment in the Departments of Surgery and Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr. McFadden is Board Certified by both the American Board of Surgery and American Board of Plastic Surgery. He has received the Certificate of Added Qualification for Surgery of the Hand.
