Our Services

Oral and maxillofacial surgeons diagnose and surgically treat diseases, injuries and defects of the oral (teeth and mouth) and maxillofacial (jaws and face) regions. The Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons at the Medical University of South Carolina have extensive training and experience in the diagnosis and management of traumatic facial injuries, perform bone grafting, care for patients with tumors and cysts of the jaws, and provide implant surgery for patients with missing teeth. They also treat impacted teeth, such as “wisdom teeth” (third molars), misaligned jaws, and dental infections of the head and neck. Another significant part of their training is the acquisition of knowledge and skill in pain control methods, including intravenous sedation.
