The American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (A.S.P.E.N.) is an interdisciplinary organization whose members participate in the provision of nutrition therapies. It involves a community of dietitians, nurses, pharmacists, physicians, scientists, students and other health professionals from every facet of nutrition support clinical practice, research and education. To help facilitate interdisciplinary efforts among members, ASPEN has developed chapters in every geographical region. MASPEN is the Mid-Atlantic chapter of ASPEN, that includes North and South Carolina. It hosts an annual clinical nutrition conference to encourage networking among nutrition support practitioners. The conference highlights the newest clinical nutrition information and demonstrates how to apply this knowledge directly to patient care. Amy Berry MS, RD, CNSD has been on the planning committee for MASPEN for 3 years, and this year has been elected MASPEN president |
