The Healthy Eating and Lifestyle Plan (HELP) is a friendly competition during six weeks of wellness and weight loss. Presented by the dietetic interns, the competition is open to staff, students, and friends of the MUSC community. In addition to embarking on a healthier lifestyle, participants also compete for prizes through the point-based competition. Points can be earned by attending weekly classes, keeping a food diary, creating a physical-activity log; and for the percentage of weight and body fat lost during the competition. The program begins January 12th with a weigh-in and concludes on February 23rd when all participants weight out, which also is the last chance to earn points. Early registrants pay $20 by January 7. Otherwise, registration is $25 after January 7th. Register at the Wellness Wednesday display or place a registration form in boxes provided at ART and University Hospital cafeterias.
