Eat meals and snacks throughout the day. Choose a variety of high calorie foods. Add dried fruits and/or nuts to salad, cereal, yogurt, oatmeal, grits, homemade breads, muffins, casseroles, cookies and pastas. Drink whole milk, liquid nutritional supplements, or fruit juice in place of water. Use peanut butter as a topping for fresh fruits and vegetables, pancakes, waffles, toast and muffins. Prepare milkshakes with added honey, fruit, pasteurized egg substitute, yogurt, peanut butter, non-fat dry milk or Carnation Instant Breakfast. Add margarine to hot cereal, noodles, rice, vegetables, popcorn, breads, muffins, and pancakes.
