What Are We Doing

Sodexo Dining Services at MUSC is committed to advancing sustainable practices and promoting personal responsibility in composting, recycling, and reducing waste.  Promoting local farmers, utilizing compostable products, and participating in recycling efforts are just a few of the ways we are making a difference.

Supporting Local Farmers 

Purchasing from local farmers impacts our economy and environment.  Local businesses continue to operate, and the transportation of produce is minimized, which helps preserve our environment.

Rainforest Alliance Certified Coffee 

Coffee with the rainforest alliance certification supports farmers learning to grow coffee using sustainable methods and provides farmers with leverage to enter a more global market.

Meatless Monday

Meatless Monday is an international movement to help people reduce their meat consumption by 15% to improve personal health and the health of the planet.  Eating less meat helps to reduce the intake of fat and cholesterol and also helps the planet by limiting the carbon footprint, fossil fuel dependence and water demands of the diet.
