Giddy Goat Cheese Cooking Demo
On Wednesday, March 4th, the MUSC Executive Chef Fred Bennett and Farrah Hoffmire from Organic Process, teamed up for a live cooking demonstration. Farrah's "Giddy Goat Cheese", was selected as the secret ingredient for the Charleston Food and Wine Festival's Top Chef Competition and was also the featured ingredient in the MUSC cooking presentation. The cooking demonstration allowed viewers to get a "sneak" taste of the recipes that will be featured Monday, March 7th, in the University Hospital cafeteria.
Giddy Goat Cheese is an artisan cheese- handmade in small batches. Goat cheese, like goat milk, is easier on the human digestive system and lower in calories, cholesterol and fat than its bovine counterpart. In addition, goat milk cheese is rich in calcium, protein, vitamin A, vitamin K, phosphorus, niacin and thiamin.
