Dr. Edwards is an Associate Professor of Neurology, and is the Director of the MUSC Comprehensive Epilepsy Center. Dr Edwards attended Medical School at Wake Forest University, and then completed his residency at the University of Maryland, followed by a fellowship in Epilepsy and Clinical Neurophysiology at the Cleveland Clinic. After nine years on the faculty at the University of Michigan, the last two of which he served as President of the Michigan Neurological Association, Dr Edwards joined the MUSC faculty in 2007 as Director of the Comprehensive Epilepsy Center. Dr. Edwards has a long-standing interest in sports neurology. While in Michigan, he served as the Neurologist for the athletic program at the University of Michigan. Dr. Edwards’ clinical interests include epilepsy and Neurophysiology. Additionally he sees high performance athletes in need of neurological care in sports-related concussion, seizures, and migraine. Dr. Edwards is a member of the South Carolina Neurological Association, the American Epilepsy Society, the American Academy of Neurology, and the American Clinical Neurophysiology Society. He has served on the scientific committee of several organizations, including the American Clinical Neurophysiology Society, and is a Board Member and Examiner for the American Board of Clinical Neurophysiology.
