Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit (NSICU)

The Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit (NSICU) is a ten bed specialized unit where patients with neurological disorders receive state-of-the-art treatment. The NSICU cares for patients with injuries to the brain, spinal cord, nerves, and muscles. The NSICU is the only academic unit in the state and the only unit staffed by fellowship-trained neurointensivists. Our medical and nursing staff is trained to provide the highest levels of intensive care that patients require.

We are a referral unit for many hospitals in the state as we provide complex neurological care not available elsewhere. Together with the neurosurgeon, neurologist, and other consultants the NSICU attending physician and team members work with patient's and their families while in the NSICU.
