Botulinum Toxin Injections
Botulinum toxin injections are an effective therapy for
- Dystonia (spasmodic torticollis, blepharospasm, writer’s cramp, jaw dystonia, limb dystonia)
- Hemifacial spasm
- Spasticity
Four different types of botulinum toxins are available at our clinic: Botox, Myobloc, Dysport, and Xeomin.
Our physicians have specialized training in a particularly effective way of using this drug: Using electromyography during the injection, they detect specific abnormal muscles by measuring electrical signals. In this way, smaller amounts may be placed more directly in the affected area, yielding fewer side effects and better results.
