Neuro-Interventional Surgery : Spinal Compression Fractures

This occurs when vertebrae become weakened and break or collapse because of disease or as a result of medication. The condition can cause severe pain with any movement.

A neuro-interventional treatment called percutaneous vertebroplasty involves injecting a type of bone cement directly into the compressed vertebral area. This strengthens the bones. Specialized X-ray equipment provides optimal visualization as the physician inserts a needle into the compression fracture to deliver treatment.
