In 1991, he was one of the first patients to undergo a partial nephrectomy which successfully removed half of his kidney. Dr. Stuart’s wife was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia and has been free of disease for over 6 years. He also inspired thousands by participating in Lance Armstrong’s Tour of Hope by cycling across America to raise awareness for clinical trials.
