Dr. Samir Fakhry describes two important goals for his first year as chief of the Division of General Surgery. First, he will organize the Surgical Acute and Critical Care service line that will allow 'one-stop' care for critically ill surgical patients. Simultaneously he will be organizing and enhancing MUSC's trauma service so that we will qualify for national level certification as a Level I Trauma Center.
