Dr. Tim Givens, Medical Director of the Pediatric Emergency Department at MUSC, discusses seizures in children and how they should be handled. He explains how a febrile seizure is brought on by fever, and likely is a result of rapid temperature increase within the body. Dr. Givens discusses what should be done when a child is having a seizure, as well as the importance of bringing the child to the emergency room by ambulance.
