Dr. Kathleen Brady, associate dean for clinical and translational research at MUSC, discusses a new program called the South Carolina Clinical and Translational Research Institute, or SCTR. The primary function of SCTR is to improve the connections between basic scientists and clinicians so that patients may reap a greater benefit from breakthroughs in research being conducted. Dr. Brady explains how SCTR is working to establish better lines of communication between researchers and clinicians in order to make the application of these breakthroughs as practical and effective as possible.
