Dr. Nick Batalis, a forensic pathologist at the Medical University of South Carolina, discusses the autopsy procedure and the steps involved. He explains the differences between a general autopsy and a forensic autopsy, as well as the overlap between the two. Dr. Batalis also clears up some common misconceptions about autopsy procedures and what this process entails. He concludes this podcast by explaining the terms “coroner” and “medical examiner”, and how those offices may function depending on location.
