Dr. Mark Delegge, director of the Digestive Disease Center at MUSC, discusses a type of enteroscopy known as Balloon Enteroscopy. He describes how this procedure allows gastroenterologists to look further into the small intestine for diseases than was previously possible with a standard enteroscope. Dr. Delegge explains why this is so important for investigating problems associated with the small intestine, and how the procedure itself is performed. He concludes by emphasizing how the Digestive Disease Center is committed to evaluating new technologies and procedures to maximize the level of patient care at MUSC.
