Shaken Baby Syndrome: Injury and Prevention

In this pediatrics podcast, Dr. Kara Blevens, the director of the Medically Fragile Children’s Program at MUSC, discusses shaken baby syndrome. She explains why young children are particularly susceptible to this type of injury. She points to the severity of injury from violent shaking, as the damage is permanent in most cases and sometimes even fatal. Dr. Blevens concludes by offering advice to parents struggling with infant care.
