In this aging podcast, Sally Smith talks with Fran Emerson, the director for the Charleston area programs for the Alzheimer’s Association, about the importance of accepting seemingly odd behaviors in a person with Alzheimer’s Disease. Ms. Emerson stresses that unless a certain behavior is somehow harmful, there is not necessarily a need to try and change it. She also emphasizes that many agitated behaviors are attempts at communication.
