Dr. Judith Skoner, a microvascular and reconstructive head & neck surgeon, explains the free flap procedure which involves detaching and reattaching skin and blood vessels from one site of the body to another site. Dr. Skoner gives an example of reconstructing a tongue using part of the tissue from the forearm.
