Total Joint Replacement

Each patient that has a total joint replacement at MUSC works with their physician and care team to develop a coordinated care plan for in-patient and out-patient treatment.
The plan includes:
- pre-operative and post-operative education sessions
- physical therapy
- occupational therapy
- coordinated follow-up care
In-patient services include, a dedicate hospital unit to care for joint replacement patients. Patients on the Total Joint Unit are cared for specialty trained nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists and pain management specialists.
