S.C. Guardian ad Litem Programs
Provides statewide training and supervision of volunteer advocates for chidden in child abuse and neglect proceedings. Guardians ad Litem perform independent evaluations of allegations of abuse, consult with professionals, monitor agencies and individuals who are required to provide care or services to the child.

S.C. Department of Disabilities and Special Needs
Through a network of providers located in each county, DDSN provides residential, adult vocational services, summer camps, respite care, and case management services for individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, head injuries, and spinal cord injuries. Phone numbers listed by county.

Provides compensation, including medical benefits, counseling services, lost wages, and funeral expenses to individuals injured (killed) as a result of a violent crime.

Community Long Term Care Program
Division of Health and Human Services. Provides assessment, level of care determination, and coordination of home services for individuals who need such assistance in order to avoid institutionalized care (Individuals who are Medicaid eligible - elderly, disabled, ventilator dependent - not MR, MI). May provide personal aid or attendant care, meals delivered to the home, prescription drugs, medical supplies, private duty nursing, respite care, personal emergency response system, home modifications. SERVICES FOR CHILDREN

Baby Net - Operated by USC Center for Developmental Disabilities
Provides evaluation, therapy, financial assistance for children with developmental delays and handicaps (from Birth to age 3). Has intervention specialists in each county.

Children's Rehabilitative Services
Evaluation and treatment for physically handicapped and chronically ill children under 18 years. (Financial guidelines for eligibility). Services include medical services, social work services, hospital care, medications and medical supplies, medical equipment, therapy services, summer camp.
