For some people who have MS, the first hint of cognitive loss is not a memory lapse, but a poor judgment call or an inability to swiftly perform analytic work that was previously fairly simple. For example, a securities analyst may find that she is no longer able to keep straight all of the factors that need to be considered to write up a stock analysis, or that it takes so long to do it that her job is threatened.
