DIRECTIONS TO MUSC PARKING DIRECTIONS TO MUSC I-26 from the west:
 Take I-26 East to Charleston. At the end of the interstate, take exit 221A/17S. Get in the right lane.
Go through the first traffic light, take the Rutledge Avenue exit to the right. Go .5 miles.
Turn right on Bee St. MUSC is one block ahead. Highway 17 from the north:
Take Highway 17 South into Charleston.
Take the Rutledge Avenue exit to the right. Go .5 miles.
Turn right on Bee St. MUSC is one block ahead.Highway 17 from the south:
Take Highway 17 North to Charleston.
Cross the Ashley River bridge and the overpass.
At the third light, turn right on President St.
MUSC is one block ahead. Highway 171 from the east:
 Take Highway 171 (Folly Road) heading west to downtown Charleston. Exit onto Highway 30 (James Island Connector).
At the connector's end, get in the left lane.
Follow the Calhoun St. signs.
At the second light, turn left on Jonathan Lucas Street to get to the MUSC campus. PARKING Drop-Off Zones:
Passenger drop-off and pick-up zones are provided to help patients entering or leaving MUSC's hospitals and centers.
Vehicles must not be left unattended in these zones.
Zones are located in the following areas:  -Hollings Cancer Center - This zone is located at the corner of Jonathan Lucas and Calhoun streets in front of the center.
-Clinical Sciences Building - This drive-through ramp is located on Jonathan Lucas Street across from the Medical Center visitor garage.
-Institute of Psychiatry - This zone is located on President Street in front of the institute-Medical Center and Children's Hospital - These spaces are located on the horseshoe-shaped drive in front of Children's Hospital entrance on Ashley Avenue. If you will be admitted to Medical University Hospital, we encourage
you to use the hospital's main entrance.
-Rutledge Tower - This zone is located on Rutledge Avenue in front of Rutledge Tower.
Parking Locations:
-The MUSC Office of Parking Management  oversees all visitor parking areas around the MUSC Medical Center.
MUSC Public Safety officers patrol all parking areas around the MUSC campus for your safety and the safety of your automobile. -Please park only in designated areas. Refer to the map at the back of this booklet for parking locations.
Vehicles parked illegally or improperly will be ticketed and may be towed at the owner's expense.
There may be a charge for parking. -Parking garages are located on Jonathan Lucas Street across from the MUSC Medical Center entrance, and on Vanderhorst Street. The garage on Vanderhorst Street has a covered walkway to Rutledge Tower.
-Parking lots are located on Ashley Avenue across from Children's Hospital, and on President Street.
The President Street lot has motorized carts with drivers available to transport you to and from the Medical Center. -Handicap spaces are located on the horseshoe-shaped drive off Ashley Avenue, as well as in the garages and parking lots. Discounted Daily Parking for Inpatients:
Patients' families may request a reduced rate when their visits exceed two hours, or when there will be multiple short visits on the same day. The patient's full name and room number should be written on the front of the parking facility ticket. You can request the reduced rate at the cashier booth when you exit the garage or parking lot.
There is a maximum parking charge of $2 per day for patients in the hospital and their families. If you have questions or need special assistance, please call the Office of Parking Management at 792-3665 before you arrive at MUSC.
