The pediatric cardiology and surgical specialists at MUSC Children's Hospital provide inpatient and outpatient diagnostic, treatment and follow-up services for a full range of pediatric cardiovascular disorders.
Our Children’s Heart Center also serves as the tertiary referral center for the highly respected Children's Heart Program of South Carolina. The Children's Heart Program is a network of pediatric cardiology providers and outreach centers throughout the state, offering comprehensive inpatient and outpatient cardiovascular care to all South Carolina children and surrounding regions.
The mission of the Children's Heart Program is to provide the best possible coordinated cardiac care to this patient population. Clinical evaluations for problems ranging from the more common occurrences of chest pain, murmurs, fainting and palpitations to complex forms of congenital and acquired heart disease are performed at offices located throughout the state.
In addition to the Children’s Heart Center at MUSC, primary Children’s Heart Program offices are located in Columbia, Greenville and Florence, with weekly to monthly outreach clinics in Anderson, Beaufort, Greenwood, Murrells Inlet, Myrtle Beach, Orangeburg, Spartanburg and Sumter. All invasive procedures, including catheterizations and surgeries, are performed at the MUSC Children's Heart Center. At MUSC, each clinical laboratory, inpatient unit and operating room is dedicated to pediatric cardiology patients, with specially trained professionals and state-of-the-art equipment designed for the pediatric patient. |
