| MUSC’s board certified cardiologists are specially trained in cardiac catheterization procedures that help diagnose and treat heart disease. Cardiac catheterization (also called angiogram) provides diagnostic images of the heart’s arteries and its function. This procedure is used to evaluate patients for surgery and to perform non-surgical treatments. Our cardiac catheterization labs offer a complete range of basic, complex and emergency procedures, including:  Balloon angioplasty
Coronary stenting
Drug-eluting stents (DES)
Laser and rotational atherectomy
Thrombectomy
Peripheral vascular balloon angioplasty and stenting
