Priority Funding Needs of MUSC's Heart & Vascular Center

Endowed Chairs
Endowed chairs are faculty appointments that will fund research in perpetuity through the interest generated by the initial fund. They help the Heart & Vascular center recruit and retain the most elite physicians and scientists, which in turn brings better and brighter students and attracts additional research grant money.

Center of Economic Excellence
Currently, through a South Carolina Research Center of Economic Excellence grant earned by the Heart & Vascular Center, gifts to a program on chronic heart failure will be matched dollar for dollar. This program will create a statewide network for advancing diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of chronic heart failure, and is based on a unique discovery made by MUSC Heart and Vascular Center's cardiologists and cardiovascular surgeons. This is a unique opportunity to have your gift to the Heart & Vascular Center doubled.

Unrestricted Gifts to the Heart & Vascular Center
Unrestricted gifts allow the Heart & Vascular Center a degree of flexibility in meeting needs as they arise. Unrestricted gifts may be used for research, equipment, facilities, staff retention and recruitment, or education and outreach. Your unrestricted gift will be applied in the greatest area of need within the Heart and Vascular Center.
